Cool room hire for Tasmanian weddings

Weddings are the single most common reason people call us. A walk-in cool room parked behind the marquee keeps the drinks and the catering cold from the day before through to the pack-down.

Why couples hire one

Most venues don’t have the cold storage a wedding actually needs

A farm shed, a marquee on a family property, a vineyard, a hall — the venues people choose in southern Tasmania are lovely, and almost none of them have a fridge big enough for a day’s worth of drinks for a hundred guests. Domestic fridges and tubs of ice don’t come close, and a warm beer at 4pm is the sort of thing people remember.

A cool room trailer solves it in one go. It’s a walk-in room — 2700mm long inside, lit, with the door at the back — so you can stack pallets of drinks and keep the caterer’s trays cold from the day before through to the pack-down.

We deliver and pick up, or you can tow it yourself if that suits your run sheet better.

Planning it in

The four things couples ask us

How long should I book it for?

Most weddings hire for around three days — one to load and chill, the day itself, and one to clear up. Chilling drinks properly takes time, so having it on site the day before is worth it.

How far ahead should I book?

Most wedding enquiries reach us a couple of months out, and plenty come a year ahead. Summer weekends in southern Tasmania go first — October to March is our busiest stretch.

Where does it sit at the venue?

Somewhere reasonably level, within reach of power, and out of sight of the ceremony if you’d rather not look at a trailer. It’s dual axle, so it manoeuvres onto grass and gravel without much drama.

What about power?

A standard 10 amp powerpoint is all it needs, and we supply the extension lead. If your venue is a paddock, a generator of at least 5.5kVA will run it.

More detail on delivery, temperature, shelving and towing is on our FAQs page.

Wedding this weekend and something’s gone wrong?

We’re on call 24/7. If a venue’s fridge has failed or the drinks order turned out bigger than the cool space, ring us — we’ll tell you immediately what we can do.

Give us the wedding date, the venue suburb and roughly how many guests you’re expecting, and we’ll come back with a price and confirm the trailer is free.

What affects the price

  • How long you need it. Most hires run around three days. Longer hires are discounted — just ask.
  • Delivery and pick up. There may be a charge depending on the location and the hire duration. You’re also welcome to tow it yourself.
  • Power on site. A standard 10 amp powerpoint is all it needs. No mains power means a generator of at least 5.5kVA.

Not sure yet? Leave the dates blank — most people book a few weeks or months ahead, and we can pencil something in.

Distance is one of the things that affects the price, so a suburb is enough for us to work it out. Pick up from us is also an option.
